My Story and Mission
I have been working in community planning and development for over 13 years, predominantly with communities across the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
My main areas of expertise are:
1. Community-led planning, including Local Place Plans, Community Action Plans, and Climate Adaptation and Resilience Planning.
2. Community Development, including project planning, management and delivery.
I also work as a Project Officer for Forth Valley Climate Action Hub, hosted by FEL Scotland, supporting communities across the region to undertake climate action.

Results that Matter
Rural and Island Place Standard
Working with colleagues from Public Health Scotland, Scottish Rural Action amongst others, I was an important part of the Rural and Island Place Standard working group; developing a updated Place Standard toolkit for Rural and Island Communities. Following more than two years of work, we finally launched the new toolkit in late February 2026.
We are now looking for demonstration communities to pilot this new and exciting Place Standard.
St Fillans Community Place Plan
I coordinated the delivery of the St Fillans Community Place Plan by supporting the Place Plan Steering Group to consult their community, collate and analyse the data gathered, then draft, publish and print the final document (link). It is a highly regarded plan across the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and has been used as an exampler for other local authorities.
Broch Field Strathyre: Community Asset Transfer
As Development Officer for BLS Community Trust, I planned, managed and delivered the community Asset Transfer of the Broch Field from Forest and Land Scotland. The Broch Field is the village's green space in Strathyre and used for a variety of purposes, from music festivals to a community orchard. We secured funding from the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Authority, the Scottish Land Fund and CLLD to purchase the space, upgrade the car-park, install new signage, and install donation posts to bring in an income to subsidise the site's on-going maintenance.
